Football WAG Melanie Slade To Star In Harry Potter

Football WAG Melanie Slade
Football WAG Melanie Slade
Arsenal young star Theo Walcott’s girlfriend, Melanie Slade has just landed herself a new job as the face of fashion brand Helly Hansen.

And Melanie Slade is moving into the big screen too. She just got her "big break" as an actress by featuring in Harry Potters new film.

According to the Sun, Melanie Slade plays a friend of witch Hermione (EMMA WATSON) in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part One. She has only two lines.

It is hard to show your acting skills when you are only given two lines. But I don't think people expected much of Melanie. She just needs to act pretty.

In fact, if not for her status as a WAG and a backdoor connection to the director, I don't think we are ever going to see her in a Harry Potter movie.

More Trouble For Argentina Football: Argentina 1-0 Paraguay

Argentina may still holds its World Cup destiny in its own hands but their poor form after losing to Brazil and now this 1-0 defeat to Paraguay indicates a team without commitment and do not know how to attack and defend properly.

After 94 minutes of play, Paraguay had qualified for their fourth consecutive World Cup while Argentina suddenly found themselves a loss away from missing their first World Cup in 40 years.

Diego Maradona has to eradicate defensive problems fast, starting by benching Gabriel Heinze who put in another sub par performance.

There is no bigger sleeping giant in world football than Argentina. Once they awaken, the world will tremble. But for now they continue to hibernate.

Maradona is about to become a reviled sinner for subjecting a proud footballing nation to shame. Knowing when to step down is crucial, don't wait till all is lost. I really hate to see this, arguably most gifted player of our generation, losing his reputation.

Online Fantasy Football

Football is one of the most popular sports in the world. Millions are obsessed with watching eleven men on each team chase after a ball without touching it with their hands. Why is it so mesmerizing? I don't know except to confess that I am hooked too.

If you are a football enthusiast, you should be reading my blog often (yeah, shameless). But anyway, there is another excellent blog which provides extensive and latest coverage of soccer news.

And when it comes to football, it is hard to leave out betting. Sportspundit provides tips and reviews of football betting. Since the ball is round, do not expect failproof betting tips and they cannot guarantee that you always make money. But still, such reviews can serve as a reference before you start placing your bets.

For those who feel they have a good grasp of the game, why not try out their fantasy football? You can organize a team in leagues like the Bundesliga, Premier League, La Liga, and Serie A. The tournament started on Aug 30th, but it's still possible to sign up and play.

There are prizes (like a trip to Madrid in May 2010 and a team T-shirt of your choice) as well as bragging rights for winners.

If you are interested in football, Sportspundit.com is a really interesting place to hang out.

World Cup Qualifier: England 5-1 Croatia

England thrashed Croatia comprehensively in a 5-1 victory at Wembley to book their place at the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa.

The hosts took the lead after eight minutes when Josip Šimunić hopelessly clobbered Aaron Lennon inside the area and Frank Lampard expertly despatched the spot-kick into the corner.

Steven Gerrard then doubled the lead 10 minutes later as he rose at the back post to head home Lennon's deep cross.

England added a third in the 59th minute when Lampard headed home a Glen Johnson cross. Six minutes later Gerrard headed a fourth after Wayne Rooney did really well to hook the ball back from the by-line.

Eduardo replied for the Croats in the 73rd minute, but Rooney scored a fifth after goalkeeper Vedran Runje passed straight to him.

The qualifying campaign has been an astounding success for England. Actually, they have the players to be world-beaters all along. It is just that they are short of confidence and underachieve their potential.

With Fabio Capello at the helm and humiliating Croatia in this manner, I think England fans can finally dream of World Cup glory next summer.

World Cup Qualifier: Brazil 3-1 Argentina

No smiles for Diego Maradona who is coming under increasing pressure as coach of Argentina.

The prospect of not qualifying for the World Cup is very real and the problem is Diego Maradona doesn't seem able to put the situation right, even with so many talents at his disposal.

For this national idol, the unimaginable sacking may come very soon.

'Some people believe football is a matter of life and death. I'm very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that.'
- Bill Shankly
