Chelsea vs Manchester United Clash Postponed

Chelsea vs Manchester United
What a waste... the hugely anticipated Chelsea and Manchester United match was postponed due to heavy winter storm.

Like in most seasons, Chelsea and Manchester United are firm title contenders with Arsenal and Liverpool mounting meek challenges. This season is no different as the outcome of this epic clash will have a huge bearing on who lifts the trophy.

Manchester United go to Stamford Bridge as league leaders, leading Chelsea by three points and a game in hand. Chelsea HAVE to win this game and close the gap. The Red Devils want another 3 points to pull away and a win at the Bridge will cement their lead.

For the past weeks, Chelsea had been terrible. It fought to a disappointing 1-1 draw with Tottenham at White Hart Lane last weekend. But there were some encouraging signs; the defense had tightened up and if not for a genius touch and brilliant finish by Roman Pavlyuchenko, they will have won.

Upfront, Chelsea scored through Didier Drogba but in a fortuitous fashion as Dawson made a silly mistake. In extra time, Chelsea were awarded a penalty but Drogba fluffed the spot kick. No wonder Carlo Ancelotti is still feeling the pressure.

On the other hand, Manchester United came from a morale boosting victory over old foes Arsenal, and were ready to demolish Chelsea too. Now the adverse weather conditions have spoiled the plan for United, because now their fixture list will be overloaded, with two postponed games to play. One from a few weeks ago against Blackpool which was also called off for the same reason and now this encounter against Chelsea.

The replay could be played in different circumstances by then and Chelsea could have the upper hand or both are on equal footing. But since the adverse weather conditions affect matches all over Britain, Alex Ferguson can't complain much.

Whatever the case, remember to tune in for the heart stopping fixture. Both clubs will be going all out to prove their superiority.
