Is Trezeguet Not Good Enough for France?

David Trezeguet is a player who has netted 10 goals from 11 matches recently. The praise from Marcello Lippi is: “He does not score goals. He is the personification of goal.” Yet, David Trezeguet does not enjoy the favour of France coach Raymond Domenech.

‘Trezegol’, who has scored 146 goals from 237 Serie A and European matches with Juventus, 37 from 70 games with Les Bleus, is not even a second choice striker in his national team.

Everything is being built around Thierry Henry, who, let’s face it, also has a pretty good scoring record though not as impressive as his former Monaco team mate.

Olympique Lyon striker Karim Benzema, arguably the classiest French player since Zinedine Zidane, and Nicolas Anelka, who has improved a lot in recent years despite playing for strugglers Bolton Wanderers, are both preferred to Trezeguet.

That’s understandable. But before a must-win Euro qualifier against Lithuania last month, Domenech chose Monaco forward Frederic Piquionne ahead of Trezeguet, a proven match winner. Olympique Marseille striker Djibril Cisse (though he does not strike that much) has also been preferred to Trezeguet.

OK, Henry netted twice against Lithuania and his class has helped France almost secure their place in next year’s Euro finals. However, Trezegol won Euro 2000 for France. Some will say he lost the World Cup final by missing his penalty kick, but having played only a handful of minutes throughout the tournament, his preparation could hardly have been worse.

New Garage Flooring

How does your garage flooring look like.

Mine has a carpet on it to cover some of the ugly spots. The rest, you won't see much floor as it is covered with lots of junk.

Add to that, we have a car parked inside the garage and the house is not that big to begin with. Anyway, I saw this site which offers lots of garage flooring. Since the floor has been there for a decade, I am thinking it is no harm trying to renovate the place.

The new garage floors that will protect the concrete underneath look nice and the price is competitive. If you guys are interested in garage floors, visit the site to find out more.

Barcelona Close Gap At The Top

A rejuvenated Ronaldinho scored two trademark free-kicks as Barcelona moved to within one point of tabletoppers Real Madrid courtesy of a 3-0 win over Real Betis on Sunday.

Brazilian international Ronaldinho, criticised for his poor form and excessive partying this season, curled in two brilliant free-kicks (52 and 90min) to cap a fine display."Ronaldinho is improving little by little and the team notices that immediately on the pitch," said Barca coach Frank Rijkaard.

"He looks happy out there on the field and there is no doubt that he still has a lot to offer this team and the club."

Real had tasted a 2-0 defeat to Sevilla on Saturday and Barcelona punished that slip with French international Thierry Henry bagging his fifth goal of the season before Ronaldinho took the headlines.

It was a 100th league victory for Rijkaard and Barcelona climb to second, level on points with Villarreal, who produced the comeback of the season to defeat Atletico Madrid in a 4-3 thriller on Sunday.

Grant defends Terry's "obscene" salary

Chelsea manager Avram Grant said on Friday captain John Terry deserved every penny of the salary that sports minister Gerry Sutcliffe described as "obscene".

"I think people need to understand how he led the team with full commitment in a very difficult time at Chelsea. For this, he deserves every penny," Grant told reporters. Sutcliffe said on Thursday that Terry's reported weekly wage of between 130,000 and 150,000 pounds was obscene and said that football was in danger of alienating grassroots fans.

Grant, however, said that the salaries should be compared to those of other top sportsmen and women as well as entertainers."Everybody likes to speak about the money of football players but why does nobody speak about a singer who gets up to sing for one hour and gets more money than everybody?," he asked.

"Why don't they speak about a very, very talented tennis player in Maria Sharapova who is 20 years old and I think earns more money than any other tennis player?"This is show business and even if you think it is an easy life, I don't think it is so easy. Players have a very short time to be a professional and if they succeed, they deserve the money."

Several other managers were also quick to defend the pay of their players, including Manchester City's Sven-Goran Eriksson, who earned a salary estimated at up to four million pounds when he was in charge of England.

This question has been asked for about 25 years since I came into professional football," said the Swede."I think you have to see a footballer today like an artist, someone who can move you with their performance.

Football is the biggest sport and I think it is only fair players earn good money as they are finished by the time they are 35."Manchester United's Alex Ferguson said: "It is very easy to say footballers get paid too much.

In some cases, I would not argue with that. However, there are also some tennis players who get great sponsorship deals but never win a tournament."Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said: "Whether it is too much or not its not down to me to judge it.

Of course what is terrible is that people don't earn enough money. For the people who earn money its down to their attitude and what they put in to justify it."Unsurprisingly Gordon Taylor, head of the player's union, said he was incredulous at Sutcliffe's statement.

"I don't want to get into knocking anyone else but is the salary of a film star obscene? Are the salaries of some of our top TV stars obscene?"

I am sorry but there are a lot more people around who earn a lot more than John Terry for doing a lot less. John Terry's courage and ability is a massive incentive for young children to take up sports, which is what I would have thought the sports minister would be pushing for.

"He should be grateful to John and our other top players for proving to youngsters that if you work hard and you commit yourself the rewards can be fantastic."

Capella University

My neighbor's kid is going to college soon and the parents are excited. I have heard them talking about a few schools but because I have left school such a long time, I do not know how kids these days pick their schools.

Definitely, if you want to go to the Ivy League or the big universities, you have to take your exams and pass them with flying colors. Apply for an interview at the best school and hope for the best.

Anyway, my neighbor wasn't sure if her son has done so well even though there was a scholarship attached. So, when I came across this capella university that offers great online degrees I thought they might want to check this out as well. Not sure if they want online degree class but since she said she still wants to do her part time job then this one might be a good thing to consider too.

Here is some background knowledge of Capella. The University is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA). Founded in 1993, it is a fully online university that offers graduate online degree programs in fields ranging from business, information technology, education, human services, public health, public safety, and psychology, and bachelor’s degree programs in business, information technology, and public safety.

I’ve read that this school offers students an opportunity to earn a degree from an accredited university that delivers the challenge of a traditional classroom, but affords the flexibility to fit education into one’s life. Which sounds really interesting! I’l let them know for sure about this!
